Chris Tarrants' Millionaire Memories
To celebrate new Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Classic episodes on Challenge, Chris Tarrant reflects on some of his memories from the show since it launched back in 1998.
Its been an amazing thirteen years and I still love it.
We've made more than six hundred shows in the UK alone.
We've given away over sixty million pounds.
As well as the million pound winners it has completely changed the lives of many hundreds of men and women from all walks of life all over the UK.
Since it came on air in 1998 all sorts of shows have come up against us and all have fallen away.
It has sold to over a hundred and twenty countries around the world.
It originated in Britain which makes us all very proud as it is inarguably one of the all time great world TV shows and is, without doubt, the most successful game show format of all time.
It's not just a game show, it's a soap, it's a drama, it's a reality show exposing real people's raw nerve and emotion in huge close up in front of our cameras.
As each question comes up a tiny smile a frown or even a single lift of a contestant's eyebrow can reveal exactly what they are thinking.
